Nancy Marie Asbeck, beloved matriarch and vibrant force of life, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home in Mason, Ohio, on December 10, 2024. Born on April 19, 1943 in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, Nancy was a radiant presence whose spirit was as dazzling as the eclectic jewelry she adorned herself with—an unmistakable crown of glitz that embodied her passion for life.
An accomplished figure in retail sales, Nancy worked for many years at Lazarus, and then Macy’s. She always believed that every customer deserved a positive shopping experience, and she touched countless lives with her infectious smile and genuine kindness. Friends and family alike cherished her vibrant personality. She never met a stranger and was ever ready to engage in spirited conversations that would often stretch for hours.
Nancy pursued her education with vigor, earning her Associates Degree from The Ohio State University, a testament to her commitment to personal growth and accomplishment. As a proud matriarch, her greatest achievement lay in the love and devotion she poured into her family, whom she held above all else.
She is survived by her three sons, Chris (Julie) Asbeck, Mike (Gretchen) Asbeck, and Adam Asbeck; her cherished grandsons, Sam, Nicholas, Jacob, and Max Asbeck; her brother, John (Julie) Sebenoler; and many loving family members and friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Nancy also leaves behind a cherished legacy marked by the enduring love of those who predeceased her, including her husband, Frank Asbeck, who passed away in 2016; her parents, Milton and Evelyn (nee Bougardes) Sebenoler; her brother, Bob Sebenoler; her two sisters, Susan Sebenoler and Julie Sebenoler; and her grandson, Noah Asbeck. Each of these individuals played an integral role in shaping the beautiful tapestry of her life.
As we bid farewell to Nancy, we celebrate the tremendous joy she brought into our lives—a life imbued with laughter, style, and unyielding love for her family. Her legacy will continue to shine brightly through the many lives she touched and the fond memories cherished by those who loved her deeply.
A private Catholic service will be held at a future date, at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery in Columbus, Ohio.
