Natalie (Kit) Schultz: Obituary

September 18, 1934 – January 10, 2024

Natalie (Kit) Schultz (née Guidroz) went home to be with Jesus on January 10, 2024, at the age of 89.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Ronald W. Schultz, daughter, Elizabeth Parish and her husband Tom, daughter, Pamela Pesto, and her husband Al, and four grandchildren, Grant and Nicole Parish, and Al and Will Pesto. She is also survived by her sisters, Becky Mills and her husband Clyde, Jessica Flaherty and her husband John, sister-in-law Jeannie Schultz, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister, Leila Anne Guidroz Pass.

Kit met the love of her life, Ron, while working for TWA in Chicago as a flight attendant. They had two daughters while living there, before being transferred to Virginia.  They were later transferred again to Prospect, Kentucky, where they lived for 50 years.  Kit earned her Master of Science Degree in Social Work from the University of Louisville in 1981. She was an avid community volunteer, including work with Hospice in Louisville, the Red Cross, the Louisville Orchestra, the Kentucky School for the Blind, and many others. She was an active member of St. Francis in the Fields Episcopal Church, where she worshipped, served on the altar guild, was on the prayer team, and attended many bible studies. She was also a member of the Daughters of the King, an Order for women of the Episcopal Church and with the historic Episcopate. Every Daughter pledges herself to a lifelong program of prayer, service, and personal evangelism, dedicated to the extension of Christ’s kingdom and the strengthening of the spiritual life of her parish.

Kit loved the Lord, her family, her friends, her caregivers at the Christian Village at Mason, and her poodle(s) named Shadow. She was very generous, considerate, and penned many lovely letters (in her gorgeous handwriting) over the years. In her early years, she enjoyed playing tennis and bridge, and hosting parties with friends. She also enjoyed working puzzles, reading, and going to the beach every summer, where she loved to collect shells.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Mason Christian Village Stone Center, 411 Western Row Road, Mason, Ohio, 45040.  The memorial service will follow at 11:00 am.
