Nathaniel David Read

Nathaniel "Nat" Read, of Mason Christian Village, passed away peacefully Monday, August 26, 2019 at the age of 87. He was born June 24, 1932 in East Pembroke, New York to Nathaniel Everette and Harriet (nee Porter) Read.

In 1956, Nat married his sweetheart, Gratia Doris Reichert. Together they would build a lifetime of memories. As an Engineering Technician, Nat also had the gift to fix just about anything. Talented with his hands, he created heirloom pieces with wood. He also enjoyed working in the garden raising vegetables and flowers. Nat and Gratia enjoyed traveling to many destinations over the years.

Nat was preceded in death by: his parents, Nathaniel and Harriet Read.

Nat is survived by: his wife, Gratia Read; children, David (Patrice) Read, Thomas Read and Susan Read; grandchildren, Jeffrey Read and Sara Read; sister, Geneva (Robert) Maiellaro.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mason Christian Village, 411 Western Row Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in West Chester Cemetery with Military Honors.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association.
