Norma Buchheim

June 12, 1934 — August 16, 2021

Norma Jean Buchheim (nee Sedlacek) , 87 of West Chester, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 16, 2021. She was born to Frank and Anna (nee Kesl) Sedlacek on June 12, 1934, in Highland, Illinois. She married her beloved husband, the late William H. “Bill” Buchheim Sr., on June 12, 1956 at St. Paul’s Church in Highland, Illinois.

Norma had a wonderful, kind heart. She was always lending a hand or being helpful wherever she found herself. She loved being around people. In turn, every person she met became another easy friend. Norma had a heart of gold and it showed. While at Mason Christian Village she made a whole host of new friends, especially among the staff.

Her passion for socializing was only matched by her love of the outdoors. Norma was powered by sunshine. She most enjoyed her garden. She also had a real love for sports. She could spend hours working in her garden with a Reds game on the radio. She made sure everyone knew her favorite player was Joey Votto.

She was a member of St. Susanna Catholic Church for over 18 years and enjoyed attending with her son John.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her oldest son Joe, and her eight siblings.

Norma is survived by her loving children, Jim Buchheim, John Buchheim, Bill (Diane) Buchheim, Mary (Dwayne) Thomason and Bob (Sherry) Buchheim; nine grandchildren, Michael Thomason, Kari Buchheim, Tyler (Emma) Buchheim, Nathan (Jaylyn) Buchheim, Nicholas Thomason, Steven Thomason, Caitlin (Adam) Brown, Tori Buchheim, and Bobbie (Cory) Drew; six great-grandchildren, AJ, Isaac, Kaia, Chase, Cooper, Anastasia and one on the way; also many many nieces, nephews and friends.
