Patricia Jean Schemenauer

Patricia J. Schemenauer of Lebanon, Ohio passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the age of 87.  She was born in Toledo, Ohio to Roman and Genevieve Piotrowski. The oldest of two children, she was the first in her family to graduate from college, earning both a bachelor’s and master’s degree. She taught for many years as an art teacher at Glen Este in Batavia, Ohio.  After retiring from full-time teaching, she became a substitute teacher before completely retiring in her late seventies.

Pat was a loving and devoted wife to her husband Robert of 62 years, a loving mother to her four children, and a doting grandmother to her eleven grandchildren. She and her husband explored their love of adventure with their grandchildren and instilled in them a lifetime of loving memories by sharing these travels with them. Pat enjoyed reading and spending time with her pets. She served as an usher at the Aronoff center and was involved with fundraising for various groups.

Pat is preceded in death by her loving husband Robert Schemenauer. She is survived by her children; Deborah (Douglas) Young, Linda Salyer, Jeffrey (Kari) Schemenauer and Cheryl (Walter) Kuriger; sister Kathleen Norris; grandchildren David (Amy), Kevin (Lauren), and Eric Young; Jacob (Emily) and Zachary (Macey) Salyer; Elyse and William Schemenauer; Winston, Benjamin, Preston and Cameron Kuriger. Great-grandchildren Andrew, Alex and Cameron Young, and Jamie Salyer.

Visitation at St. Susanna Church, 616 Reading Road, Mason, Ohio 45040 on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 10 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Procession to cemetery following immediately for interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
