Paul Howell

Paul Howell, of Liberty Township, received his Righteous Reward as he was welcomed into the Gates of Paradise, Monday, October 14, 2019, at the young age of 71, following an eight-mile run. He was born Monday, July 26, 1948 in Columbus, Ohio to Oliver and Kathryn (nee Robinson) Howell.

Serving others was a ministry in Paul's heart. He began at the young age of 17 when he joined the United States Army one month before he was legally an adult. His service during the Vietnam War would take him overseas earning a Bronze Star Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device and Vietnam Service Medal. As a sharpshooter, he passed his love of guns to his son.

Active in Christ's Church at Mason, Paul found ways to encourage others. Whether it was creating reference cards with the 6 ways to salvation or touching hearts with his uplifting nature, he always put the needs of others before his own. With a mission to serve others, Paul spent many hours motivating and advocating for the kids at State Avenue Church of Christ in Price Hill.

Scarlet and Gray was a must in Paul's wardrobe as his love of the Ohio State University Buckeyes was more than just a hobby. But his love of sports was more than that as he was also an avid golfer and runner. Paul's love of physical activity was genetic as he coached his children's teams, touching the hearts and lives of many young children. Paul was also a fantastic cheerleader, finding great pleasure in attending his grandson's baseball games most recently.

Lovingly known as "Pap", Paul will forever be loved and cherished by all that knew him.

Paul was preceded in death by: parents, Oliver and Kathryn Howell.

Paul is survived by: wife, Karen (nee Lindsay) Howell; daughter, Stephanie (John) Melford; son, Luke (Chastity) Howell; grandchildren, Brooke Melford, Logan Melford, Isabella Howell and Mikayla "Pookie" Howell; brothers, Norman Williams and Robert (Carol) Howell; and many loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, October 21, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Chapel at Christ's Church at Mason, 5165 Western Row Rd, Mason, Ohio 45040. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 1:00 PM with Rev. Tom Moll officiating.
