Raymond T. Leen

May 22, 1941 — March 2, 2023

Raymond Thomas Leen passed away, surrounded by his loved ones, in his home in Mason, Ohio on Thursday, March 2 at age 81. His exceptional sense of all concepts of building led to a lengthy, successful career in engineering. In his time away from the workplace, he enjoyed constructing home add-ons such as wooden tool sheds, furniture, and deck rebuilding. Raymond is survived by his wife Amanda, sons Michael and Thomas, brother Robert and wife Sandy. He graduated from Holy Cross high school in Latonia, Kentucky; where he was born and raised.

He attended the Ohio Mechanics Institute, now known as the Ohio College of Applied Sciences, and since absorbed by The University of Cincinnati's College of Engineering. HIs skills as a mechanical draftsman quickly led to employment as an aerospace designer at General Electric. This was followed by some 50 years of jobs spent mostly as project manager of a multitude of jobs as a process piping engineering.

Ray served as a combat engineer for the United States army in the early 1960s.

During his late teenage years, Ray competed as a lightweight amateur boxer at the Fenwick Athletic Club in downtown Cincinnati. In the 1970s and 80s, he was an avid runner who completed two marathons. Other passions of his included travelling, historical studies, and his beloved dog Snookey.

A memorial service will be held at Christ's Church in Mason on Sunday, March 12 at 2 PM. Flowers are welcome. Donations should be directed to Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers in Ossing, NY.
