Robert L. 'Bob' Conner

Robert L. "Bob" Conner , of West Chester, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2020 at Hospice of Cincinnati at the age of 77.  He was born in Barboursville, West Virginia to James and Amy Conner.

Bob’s love of God, family, friends, and humanity were his driving forces.  His sense of service started early on in his life when he joined the Boy Scouts and earned his Eagle Scout, God & Country and Order of the Arrow Brotherhood Awards.  This is where his character took shape.  He then went on to to earn his Bachelors of Science and Masters of Arts in Industrial Relations from the University of Cincinnati.  Bob’s education led him into a 28 year career in federal civil service dedicated to his country.

Bob and Shelia built a home filled with love, laughter, and service to others as they welcomed their three sons.  Faith and family were always the priorities for Bob.  This was never more evident than in 1996 when Bob retired early to dedicate his life to caring for their son Rob who had suffered a stroke.  Additionally his faith in Christ guided him to serve alongside Rob as volunteer chaplains at Bethesda North Hospital and Hospice of Cincinnati (Blue Ash).

Bob’s love for his family was clear.  He was dedicated to his wife of 56 years.  As a Dad, he was always present in guiding his sons’ development as children of God.  Bob was delighted to be granddad to four grandsons, whereby he encouraged them to do their best and to be good servant leaders.

Bob is survived by his wife, Shelia (nee Koepcke) Conner; sons, Craig (Meredith) Conner, Mark (Tracy) Conner and the late Robert “Rob” Conner; grandsons, Jacob, Brady, Matthew and Brian; and brother, James (Janet) Conner.

Services are private at the convenience of the family.
