Robert E. Griffith

Robert E. "Bluegill" Griffith, of Middletown, Ohio, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the age of 76.  He was born November 14, 1946 in Middletown to Herman Henry and Mildred (nee Albiez) Griffith.

Bob was honorably discharged from the United States Air Force.  While serving, he discovered his love for cooking.  Bob loved to try new recipes and made the best peanut brittle around.

After being discharged, Bob returned to Middletown and began his career at Armco/AK Steel, retiring as Supervisor in Steelmaking Operations.  He developed many close relationships over the years he cherished.  Known as "Bluegill", Bob's co-workers would tease how that seemed to be the only fish he could catch.   With an amazing sense of humor, you could depend on Bob to make you laugh by his abilities at passing gas.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mildred Griffith.

Bob is survived by: wife, Carol (nee Wesseling) Griffith; son, Robert (Tonya) Griffith; daughter, Kathryn (Daniel) Balon; grandchildren, Corrie Griffith, Dr. Emily Balon, and Joseph Balon; sister, Patricia (Michael) Pratt; brother, Timothy Griffith; and many loving family members and friends including Jerry Sorrell and Bill Parker.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 26, 2023 from 10:00 am until the Prayer Service at 11:00 am at Mueller Hicks Funeral Home & Crematory.  Inurnment will immediately follow in Woodside Cemetery with military honors
