Robert E. Landreth

Captain Robert E. Landreth, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at the age of 82. He was born Wednesday, September 27, 1939 in Wellington, Kansas to Ray B. and Mary Margaret (nee Brewer) Landreth.

Bob attended New Mexico State University from which he received a BS and MS Degree in Civil Engineering. In 1962, he began his lifelong career with the United States Public Health Service in Cincinnati, Ohio. While in Cincinnati, Bob met his wife, Mitchell Goddard, and the two were married in Lebanon, Ohio on January 8, 1966. The young couple then moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he continued his career at Southwest Radiological Health Lab. Just 6 years later, Bob and Mitch moved back to Cincinnati where he was detailed to the EPA Solid Waste Management Program, developing liners for hazardous and municipal waste landfills. Bob finally retired from Public Health in 1995.

Bob was talented at wood-working. One of his first projects was creating a clock from the tree he had cut down in his mother-in-law's back yard. Many heirlooms have been created over the years that the family will cherish.

Bob was preceded in death by: parents, Ray and Mary Landreth; and a brother, Ted Landreth.

Bob is survived by: wife of 55 years, Mitch Landreth; daughters, Jill (Mike) Hawkins and Karyn (Tony) Baioni; grandchildren, Cody Hawkins, Branden (Chelsea) Hawkins, and Nicholas Baioni; great-granddaughter, Leighton Hawkins; sister, Patricia (Kendall) Brundage; brother, Jimmie Lee (Pat) Landreth; and many loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 5, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM at the Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Mason.
