Robert C. Schemenauer

UNITED STATES ARMY VETERAN

Robert C. Schemenauer of West Chester, OH passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the age of 87. He was born in Toledo, OH to Robert W. and Eleanor Schemenauer. The oldest of seven children, he was the first in his family to graduate from college and had a long and successful career with the Internal Revenue Service. He enlisted and served in the Army National Guard.

Bob was a loving and devoted husband to his wife Patricia of 62 years, an inspiration to his four children, and a doting grandfather to his eleven grandchildren. He and his wife explored their love of adventure with their grandchildren and instilled in them a lifetime of loving memories by sharing these travels with them. Bob enjoyed reading, spending time with his pets, and eating ice cream. He enjoyed giving back to the community through his volunteer work, which included tax preparation for the low-income elderly, ushering at the Aronoff center, along with fundraising for various groups.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents Robert and Eleanor, and brothers David and Kenneth. He is survived by his wife; Patricia J. (nee Piotrowski), children; Deborah (Douglas) Young, Linda Salyer, Jeffrey (Kari) Schemenauer and Cheryl (Walter) Kuriger; siblings Susan Florek, Michael, Joseph and John Schemenauer; sister-in-law Kathleen Norris; grandchildren David (Amy), Kevin (Lauren), and Eric Young; Jacob (fiancé Emily) and Zachary (fiancé Macey) Salyer; Elyse and William Schemenauer; Winston, Benjamin, Preston and Cameron Kuriger. Great-grandchildren Andrew and Alex Young.


Visitation at St. John the Evangelist, 9080 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, West Chester, Ohio 45069 on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 10 AM until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Procession to cemetery following immediately for interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Vincent DePaul Society .
