Rocky Lee Morris

September 17, 1957 — August 16, 2024

Rocky Lee Morris, of Blanchester, Ohio, passed away in the comfort of his home surrounded by those he loved Friday, August 16, 2024 at the age of 66.  He was born September 17, 1957 in Hamilton, Ohio. He graduated from Lemon - Monroe High School in 1975, Go Hornets!

As a young man, Rocky was many things. He was a boxer, body builder, part of the village maintence crew, a dog warden and a firefighter for Monroe, Ohio for many years. He helped farm on the Bake Family farm and worked as a crane operator at Worthington Steel for 19 years before trying his hand at horseshoeing. On February 23, 1991, Rocky married the love of his life, Krista Elliott, at the Double D Stables in Middletown, Ohio.  The couple promised to love each other forever more while on horseback in front of family and friends.  Shortly following their marriage, Rocky went to Oklahoma to study the trade of being a horse farrier and blacksmith.  While always trying to find that perfect career he would explore the vocations of working at the Stolle farm in Lebanon, chicken and pig production farming, landscaping and excavation until he realized his passion and skill as farrier and blacksmith. Rocky would discover that he was quite the "4H Dad", "FFA Dad", "Cheer Dad", and "Dance Dad" over the years.

Rocky had many hobbies and passions. Horseback riding, pole bending and barrel racing. Gun and bow hunting, coon hunting, football (Iowa State only loyalty), boating, camping, gardening, lawn mowing and messing with his tractors.

Perhaps the greatest fisherman of all time, Legend, aka Rocky loved being near the water.  If you met Rocky, you knew you had a friend that had your back.  With a great sense of humor it wasn't often you found Rocky without a smile. He always supported the wildlife and wanted to educate on gun safety and youth fishing. He became an Ohio DNR gun safety instructor and taught classes at the Brown County Coon hunters club and taught at the Ohio State Fair  DNR booths.. He also loved to help with the Blanchester youth fishing derby since it began to see the faces of those kids weighing their fish no matter the size filled his heart.  He has left a lasting legacy that will be cherished for years to come.

Rocky was preceded in death by: maternal  Grandmother Mae Alexander ( Dosey), mother, Janet Morris. Paternal grandmother Anna Mary (Ray) Morris

Rocky is survived by: wife, Krista Morris; children, Andrea Morris (Jay Roberts), Laura Morris, Britney Morris, and Brighton Morris; grandchildren, Presley Goodloe, Casper Hicks, Jayden Cantrell, Zane Morris, Ollee Blume, and Salem Crummie; brother, Alfred Luckey; and many loving family members and friends too many to list.
