Roy S. Saunders

Roy S. Saunders, of Mason, Ohio, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the age of 82. He was born Friday, January 21, 1938 in Danville, Virginia to Riley Cabel and Ada Mae (nee Short) Saunders.

At the young age of 19, Roy married his best-friend, Barbara Banks, on July 6, 1957. Together, they built 63 years of memories surrounding their three children, six grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Roy retired from Union Camp Corporation of 39 years of service. Perhaps growing up on the family farm created his love of the outdoors, manicuring his lawn, and feeding his birds and squirrels. A handyman indeed, Roy had the ability to fix just about anything.

Roy was preceded in death by: parents, Riley and Ada Saunders; and brothers, Riley C. Saunders and Keith Saunders.

Roy is survived by: wife, Barbara Saunders; children, Randy (Marianne) Saunders, Linda (Mike) Phillips, and Cathy (Jason) Kilburn; grandchildren, Daniel (Wei) Saunders, Joshua (Carly) Saunders, Ashley Phillips, Angela Phillips, Noah Kilburn, and Elyse Kilburn; great-grandson, Benjamin Saunders; and other loving family members and friends.

Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, the services will be held privately for the immediate family only.
