Ruby Jayne Dunn, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024. Ruby was born on Saturday, May 8, 1943 to Claude Bates and Ella Mae (nee Dalton) Bates.

Ruby spent 23 years as a Dietary Aide at Willow Knoll. She was a good listener, a woman of few words, she held her loved ones close to her heart. An animal lover, Ruby was especially fond of her dogs.

Ruby was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Ella Mae Bates, children, Steven Allen Dunn, and Ruth Elaine Dunn, Son-in-law, David Curl, grandchildren, Purdin Christina, and Laura Michelle Dunn, and 4 siblings.

Ruby is survived by her children, Michael Dunn, Mary Louise Dunn, daughter-in-law, Christina Dunn, grandchildren, Megan Michelle Peck (Jacob), Michael J. Dunn, Michael Allen (Meygan) Dunn, Miranda Rajeskai, and Steven Brennan Dunn, numerous great-grandchildren, siblings, Claude A. Bates, and Rose Mary Sweeney, friend, Gordon Shepherd, as well as many other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 26, 2024, from 2:00 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM at Mueller Hicks Funeral Home, 6780 Roosevelt Avenue, Middletown, OH 45005.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Mueller Hicks Funeral Home to help offset her final expenses.
