Ruth Seiter

Ruth Seiter , age 91, passed away August 14, 2023 at UC Hospital in West Chester. She was born May 29, 1932, to Robert and Edna (Grosch) Seiter in Cincinnati. She was a proud Norwood High School Class of 1950 Alumnus, and went on to spend her entire career working for the Federal Reserve in Downtown Cincinnati.

Ruth was a doting aunt to her nephews and nieces, and especially loved spoiling them at Christmas time. She was often included in family vacations. When with her nieces and nephews, she was always up to play a game or prepare one of her specialties, including SpaghettiOs cooked on the stove-top and homemade “Frosties” in hot pink bowls.

Ruth was an animal lover who delighted in visits from neighborhood and family pets. She was a loving cat mom to Spanky, Friskie and Mikey. She made sure each pet she encountered was told how sweet and beautiful they were.

An avid gardener, not one stray leaf was to be found on her lawn as she carefully raked and weeded well into her 80s. She was especially proud of her peonies planted by her mother, azaleas and burning bush. She laughed about the squirrels dropping acorns on her roof in the fall, and enjoyed being visited at her window by cardinals and blue jays looking for peanuts.

A proud resident of Pleasant Ridge, Ruth lived 75 years of her life in a home that originally belonged to her beloved parents. She relished in time spent chatting with neighbors and sitting on her porch, enjoying the street that she called “Mayberry.” Ruth’s neighbors played an important role in her life, from shopping trips with Jo and Rita to care and kindness in her later years from many, including Rick and Karen.

Ruth is survived by her nephews: Gregg (Nancy) Seiter and Dale (Cindy) Seiter as well as her great-nieces and nephews: Alissa Seiter, Jaime (Chad) Brockie, Megan (Jarod Asher) Seiter and Geoff Seiter, as well as several friends and neighbors. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Kenneth, as well as her three beloved kitties and some of her best friends.
