SALLY CHAPMAN LIVE STREAM SERVICE

10:45 AM MONDAY, MARCH 14, 2022

Sally Chapman, died on March 1, 2022 at Maple Knoll Village following a long illness. Sally was born in Memphis, Tennessee on June 30, 1946. Sally graduated from Central High School and Earlham College in Richmond, IN. Earlham is one of the highest rated small colleges in the U.S. Sally received her degree in History in 1968. She met her future husband, Ben, later that year and they were married in 1969.

They had two children: Angela, born in Cincinnati, and Christy, born in Memphis. As soon as the children were able to go to school or pre-school, Sally began a course that would take her into many interesting professions.

She became a paralegal, a relatively new field in 1980, graduating from Mt. St. Joseph's with an advanced Paralegal degree. She got a job with a small law firm in Hamilton, where she was given heavy responsibility for the writing of court pleadings, motions, and at one point, arguing a case before a trial judge. She enjoyed joining the attorneys in court and aiding them in the arguments of each case.

Next, she took a job as Office Manager for a group of four Neurosurgeons where she managed the business operations for the partners. This led to a similar job as Office Manager with a larger group of sports medicine Orthopedic Surgeons, who had the medical responsibility for the University of Cincinnati Bearcats.

Looking for larger opportunities, Sally was hired jointly by the University of Cincinnati Hospital and the University of Cincinnati Department of Medicine to handle all organizational and operational aspects of the Department of Medicine ambulatory care. Eventually this responsibility grew to include
364 Attending Physicians, Residents and Fellows plus the associated budgets and necessary support personnel. She got interested in finance and decided to get a degree in Accounting, which she completed in 1994 at U.C. She sat for the CPA exam, passed, and became a Certified Public Accountant.

Her CPA career began at a small CPA firm that handled personal consulting and evaluations for new medical practices. The work involved organizing and maintaining a financial structure, billing, and patient flow systems. The firm also handled organizational problems and HR-related operations. After completing her CPA internship, she started her own business. She retired when her husband did in 2000.

Sally learned to play percussion instruments later in life than most percussionists (40), and owned multiple percussion instruments. She had many opportunities to play a full array of percussion instruments in various musical performances and worship bands.

Sally was elected and served as Treasurer of Northminster Presbyterian Church and Financial Secretary of Faith Lutheran Church, both in Finneytown.

She was the proud Nana of four grandchildren. All in all, an interesting, varied life, blessed with many different people and philosophies.

Sally is survived by her husband Benjamin E. Chapman, their children: Angela C. Sanders (West Chester) and Christina C. Eulberg (Loveland) and grandchildren Conner Brigman (Dayton), Lauren Sanders (West Chester), Benjamin DiVenere (Loveland) and Mia DiVenere (Loveland).
