Shawn Dennis Michael

Shawn Dennis Michael, born on September 23, 1972, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2025, in West Chester, Ohio. He was a cherished son, father, uncle and friend, known for his easy-going personality that allowed him to connect with anyone he met. Shawn was someone who never knew a stranger; his warmth and kindness opened doors to countless friendships throughout his life. 

A proud outdoorsman, Shawn had a passion for his dogs, fishing and enjoyed collecting guns, as well as shooting his bow and firearms. He spent countless hours in nature, relishing the tranquility it offered.  His garage was a testament to his character, filled with an array of tools to fix just about anything, showcasing his resourcefulness and willingness to lend a hand. 

Shawn is survived by his loving family, which includes his mother, Sharon L. Rode; his father, Dennis R. Michael; his son, Ethan Nyal Michael; Stephanie (nee Moore) Michael, the mother of Ethan; stepdaughter Lauren Cunningham; half-sisters, Amy Michael and Sarah Michael; and aunt, Lori Brown. He is also remembered fondly by many loving family members and friends who were touched by his presence and spirit. Shawn was preceded in death by his stepfather, Nyal "Tony" Palmer. 

The services honoring Shawn’s life will be held at Mueller Funeral Home in Mason, Ohio. There will be a visitation on January 16, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 5:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to gather to remember and celebrate the life of this remarkable man, whose ability to strike up a conversation and make friends so easily will be greatly missed.
