Sheryl J. Grimes

Sheryl J. Grimes (nee Abbott), of Mason, Ohio, passed away on October 25, 2024 at the age of 76. She was born September 30, 1948, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Victor Eugene and Mary Louise (nee Guillerman) Abbott.

While visiting her father in California, Sheryl reconnected with a childhood friend, William G. Grimes. The two began dating and were soon married in February 1971. Although they never had any children of their own, the couple spent countless hours caring for others. Together, they formally founded the Mason Youth Football in 1978, creating life-long friendships. Sheryl also developed a reputation of being the best babysitter in Mason. Kids usually tried to hide from their parents when it was time to go home, immediately asking when they would get to return. Sheryl's favorite time of the year was the holidays, and the family could depend on Sheryl hosting and serving and creating every dish imaginable. Sheryl left a legacy that will treasured for anyone who knew her.

Sheryl was preceded in death by: parents, Victor Abbott and Mary Louise McKenzie; and step-father Thomas McKenzie; and husband, William "Bill" Grimes.

Sheryl is survived by: brother, Gregg (Donna) McKenzie; sister-in-law, Frankie Hollenkamp; brother-in-law, Roger Grimes; several nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Pat Pence.

Visitation will be Friday, November 1, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Graveside Service will be Friday, November 1, 2024 at 1:30 PM at Rose Hill Cemetery, 171 Mason Montgomery Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.
