Sheryl Allen Shipe

Sheryl Allen 'Skip' Shipe, 89 of Mason, passed away on Friday, November 5, 2021. Born to Cecil and Myrtle (nee Nickerson) Shipe on September 21, 1932, in Kendallville, Indiana.

Skip was a veteran in the United States Navy. He went on to work in maintenance for Montgomery Community Church for many years. He was also a Resident Manager at The Indiana Baptist Assembly Camp for several years in the 70's and 80's. He was active in the church and the community.

Skip enjoyed being outdoors doing gardening or tinkering in his garage. He could fix just about anything. Do it yourself projects were some of his favorite things to work on. Skip enjoyed keeping himself busy. His daughters would describe him as "one of the hardest working people they know."

He had a great sense of humor and could be a little goofy at times.

Preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Myrtle Shipe, his wife, Janice P. Shipe, his young son, Rusty Allen Shipe, Twin Sister Shirley Schaeffer and his many other siblings.

Skip is survived by his three daughters, Kimberly (Mark) Zeiner, Lisa (John) Barrie and Jennifer Shipe, grandchildren, Layton (Sara) Zeiner, Nathaniel Zeiner, Whitney (Daniel) Sardina, Joshua Callaway, Lindsay (Jacob) Singleton, Tori Callaway, Amanda (Joshua) Bertke, Chloe Callaway, Madison Mincey, Ryan Barrie, Paige Barrie and Phillip Barrie, five great-grandchildren, Mila, Mio, Jackson, James and Carter and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 10th from 11:00-12:00 pm with a funeral service at 12:00 pm all at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040. Interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Deerfield Township, OH.
