Shirley M. Hayes

Shirley M. Hayes (nee Rose), of Franklin, Ohio, passed away peacefully July 26, 2023 at the age of 85.  She was born August 16, 1937 in Stanton, Kenutcky to Ira and Bertha (nee Thomas) Rose.

Shirley was a bookkeeper for Halsey Myers Lumber in Middletown for 37 years.  With a greenthumb, Shirley canned many vegetable from her garden as she enjoyed the beautiful colors and fragrances of the flowers.  Shirley had fun going to thrift stores to find her latest treasure or doll to collect.  Family was her priority, especially when it came to her grandsons.

Shirley was preceded in death by: parents, Ira and Bertha Rose; siblings, Peggy Shipley, Chester Rose, Don Rose, Violet Trent, Kathleen Rose, Elizabeth May Selby, Billy Rose, and Ira Rose, Jr.

Shirley is survived by: sons, Robert Hayes and Mathew (Stephanie) Hayes; grandsons, Jacob Hayes, Mason Hayes, Mathew Hayes, Jr., and Owen Hayes; sister, Betty (Jerry) Haas; brother, Danny (Carla) Rose; and many loving family members and friends.

Private services will be held by the family.

Memorial donations may be directed to Vineyard Community Church in Franklin, Ohio.
