Shirley K Stevens
September 20, 1935 - June 28, 2023
Shirley K Stevens 87 of Cincinnati, Ohio. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Donald R. Stevens. Born to Pasqualle Mazzeo (Patsy Morrell) and Lena Morrell. The 13th of 15 children. Devoted mother of Nick Stevens, Gina (Dave) Julien and Tony Stevens. Loving grandmother of Tara (Matt) Keeler, Drew Stevens, Haley Stevens and Stacey (Kyle) Rudolph. Proud Great grandmother of Emilia Keeler.
Shirley and Don started their marriage together living in Germany and travelled to Italy numerous times to visit family. She loved her Italian heritage and shared her many traditions through cooking and stories. Her favorite tradition was the annual family ravioli day where we would make ravioli from scratch, drink lots of wine, tell stories, laugh and eat together. She worked the cafeteria at St. John Elementary so she could be close to her children while they were at school there. She was very social, volunteered a lot, was active with the old neighborhood Mohawk Club, and a leader in the United Italian Society contributing to its great success. Her deep faith in the church was her foundation and took her inspiration from her "Saint" Father Caserta of Piqua Ohio. She loved listening to Andrea Bocelli, loved flower gardening, and had an infectious smile. She was kind and loving to everyone she met.
Shirley was a resident at Cedar Village Memory Care unit where she received great care from the staff. She was happy there, and helped other residents when she could. When asked what the secret is to a long life, she answered: "having fun".
