Subrata Mukherjee

Subrata Mukherjee, 77 of West Chester Township and formerly of New York, passed away on July 5, 2022, with his family by his side. Born to Kamal Chandra and Preeti (nee Chatterjee) Mukherji on February 3, 1945, in Kolkata, India.

Subrata was a professor at Cornell University for over 30 years, mentoring many students and spreading his knowledge of Mechanical Engineering onto them. He was a knowledgeable and kind man who had a passion to teach.

He enjoyed being with his family and his two sons. Subrata had traveled to over 30 countries and loved to spend his free time watching soccer or swimming.

A devoted father and husband. Subrata was a happy man, open minded and determined and always put his family first.

Preceded in death by his parents, Kamal and Preeti Mukherji and brother, Utpal Mukherjee.

Subrata is survived by his wife of 33 years, Yu Xie Mukherjee, two sons, Anondo and Alok Mukherjee, brother, Ujjal Mukherjee and best friend, Ashim Datta.
