Sue E Vogt

March 22, 1946 — May 28, 2024

Sue Ellyn Vogt, 78, went home to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.  She peacefully went to glory following a battle with cancer.  As a woman of faith and a student of God’s word, Sue’s confidence was in 2 Corinthians 5:5 “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” and Philippians 4:4-7 “Rejoice in the Lord always, I will say it again: Rejoice.  Let your gentleness be evident to all.  The Lord is near.  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with Thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”  She was a dedicated and generous person who loved the Bible, and who was skilled in presenting it to others.  Her Bible Study group grew in faith under her tutelage.  Her infectious smile, optimism, sense of humor, and love for others blessed her with a wide circle of friends.

Christian values formed every aspect of Sue’s life and molded them into the beloved person she was.  She had a passion for leading women to know Jesus Christ.

The daughter of Rudy and Mary Ethel Vogt, Sue was born on March 22, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  She graduated from Woodward High School, and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College where she excelled in many studies and sports.  For three years, she taught all women’s sports at Lexington Christian Academy.  She also did graduate studies at the University of Minnesota followed by her career at Stonecroft Ministries.

Sue served as National Leadership Representative for Stonecroft Ministries and also served as President of the Board of Directors Association of Rachel House.  She served as President of the Board of Directors of Christian Management.  Sue retired as Vice President of Stonecroft Ministries in 2008.

Sue is survived by: her niece, Kristine (Rob) Hall and their children, Charles (Megan) and Grace; nephew, David (Natalie) Vogt and their children, Mikayla and Aidan; and nephew Tim (Sierra) Vogt and their children, Deacon and Veronica; as well as her sister-in-law, Barbara Vogt.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, Rudy and Mary Ethel Vogt; and her brother, Bob Vogt.
