Susan (nee Koncz) Hagedorn, of Colerain, was reunited with her husband on Thursday, January 9, 2020, as she passed from this life into Eternal Glory at the age of 86. She was born Sunday, December 17, 1933 in Budapest, Hungary to Alexander and Louise Koncz.
Looking back, it seems as though Susan should have written a book about her adventures. At a young age, the Koncz family was forced to flee Hungary, during WWII, arriving on the last train into Germany. Susan had the privilege of speaking three languages and received training to be a concert pianist. Her love of music never wavered over the years and she would find herself fulfilling many roles within the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
Later in life, Susan discovered a new love for lizards. She had a unique ability that allowed her to nurse sick and injured reptiles back to health. Susan was also fond of traveling anywhere with a cooler climate and mountains. She will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Susan was preceded in death by: parents, Alexander and Louise Koncz; and husband, Robert H. Hagedorn.
Susan is survived by: daughter, Margo (Steven) Komarek; grandchildren, Luke, Bryan and Nataly Komarek; and nieces, Linda (Rheineheardt) Barger and Nancy Hagedorn.
Visitation will be Friday, January 17, 2020 from 10:00 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Susanna Catholic Church, 616 Reading Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation.
