Terence "Terry" Sojda, of Mason, Ohio, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the age of 61. The oldest of four boys, he was born Thursday, April 2, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio to Raymond and Betty (nee Blatnik) Sojda.
Family first was a standard that Terry lived by. He married his college sweetheart, Tina Landis, and together they built a home full of love and laughter along with their daughter and son. Terry always looked forward to family vacations and creating a lifetime of memories exploring various beaches with Aruba being his favorite. A connoisseur of craft beer, Terry looked forward to discovering local breweries.
Playing golf on the green was one of Terry's favorite places to be. In fact, his love of golf and people provided him with what he felt was the world's best part-time position at TPC Rivers Bend. With a passion for sports, Terry enthusiastically volunteered to coach his son's childhood and high school baseball and basketball teams. Terry followed the Cleveland teams and was an avid Bearcats Fan.
A well-manicured yard was a way to Terry's heart. He spent hours making sure his lawn was free of any weeds, crab grass, and grubs. This is where he loved to spend time with his family and friends as he prepared delectable meals on the grill.
Terry will forever be cherished by all those that knew and loved him.
Terry was preceded in death by: parents, Raymond and Betty Sojda.
Terry is survived by: his loving wife of 37 years, Tina Sojda; daughter, Ashley Sojda; son, William Sojda; brothers, Paul (Lynne) Sojda, Mark (Robin) Sojda, and Nick (Beth Graham) Sojda; and many loving family members and friends.
A LIMITED VISITATION will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the funeral home is only able to allow 50 people in the building at one time. We ask once you greet the family, you exit allowing other guests the opportunity to visit. A Private Prayer Service for family will follow at 7:00 PM on Tuesday with Father Robert Farrell presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family would ask memorial donations be directed to: American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123. or to Saint Ignatius High School, Advancement Office - Gift Steward 1911 West 30th Street, Cleveland, Ohio 44113 - Please make checks payable to "Saint Ignatius High School".
