Terry James Brausch, aged 72, passed away peacefully at his home on March 20, 2025. Born on June 26, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio, he was the beloved son of Edward and Marie (née Haussler) Brausch.
Terry graduated from Roger Bacon High School before earning his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. He spent his entire professional career as a Software Engineer at Cincinnati Milacron/Siemens, developing and managing projects related to machine tool programming.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Ann (nee Mueller), whom he was high school sweethearts with—a love story that blossomed into 50 wonderful years of marriage. Terry’s legacy lives on through his three children: Eric Brausch, Lisa (Shirish) Agarwal, and Michael (Amy) Brausch; as well as his four cherished grandchildren: Cedar & Sage Agarwal, and Bailey & Ainsley Brausch. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings: Dave (Joan) Brausch, Tom Brausch, Ron (Pat Selby) Brausch, Dale Brausch, and Cindy (Erich) Brausch-Knemeyer, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jeanne Kistner, her husband Jim, and their daughter Kelly.
Terry had a deep passion for all card games, with a particular mastery of Bridge, earning the prestigious titles of Bridge Life Master and National Champion. In his earlier years, he enjoyed fishing, biking, golfing, and was a lifelong supporter of the Cincinnati Bearcats. A technology enthusiast, Terry spent countless hours tinkering with computers, fine-tuning his home security system, and customizing cloud/home automation tasks. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially the joy of hosting sleepovers for his grandchildren, where games, movie nights and hot tub “swims” created cherished memories. A man of few words who rarely complained despite facing ongoing health challenges, Terry will be remembered for his love, kindness, and the lasting impact he had on everyone who knew him.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at 9080 Cincinnati Dayton Rd, West Chester, OH 45069, beginning at 10:00 AM, followed by Mass at 11:00 AM. He will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105), in honor of Terry's wish to support children battling cancer.
