Thomas A. Smith

Thomas “Red” Allen Smith, 91 of Cincinnati passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025, in West Chester, Ohio. Born to Lloyd and Edna (nee Thomas) Smith on October 16, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio.

He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea. He enjoyed spending the last 20 years as a snowbird in Destin, Florida to escape the cold Cincinnati winters. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends going to the casino, listening to country music, reading and playing cards. Was a member of Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church for almost 60 years. 

Preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Jack (Margie) Smith and Will (Margie) Smith.

Survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Gertrude Hazel (nee Weinheimer) Smith, children Nancy (Daniel) Shannon and Kamela Jones and grandchildren Michael Shannon, Taryn (Andrew) Reinke, Ryan (Melissa) Shannon, Alysha (Bryan) Luna and Allen Jones and great grandchildren Zachary Drayer, Lane Reinke and Rylann Shannon. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 15th at 10:30AM at Pleasant Ridge Presbyterian Church, 5950 Montgomery Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45213.

Memorial donations may be made in his name to Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati.
