Tom Ross

Frederick "Tom" Ross, of Liberty Township, Ohio, passed away suddenly Thursday, June 16, 2022 at the age of 81.  He was born Saturday, February 8, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Sidney and Viola (nee Danzinger) Ross.

With a mechanical mindset, Tom had the natural ability to build and fix anything.  He had a passion for fabricating and racing "gassers" or mini dragsters.  Once he was married and began having children, he traded in this dangerous and expensive pasttime for his new found love of lawn mowers, many many lawnmowers. He was passionate about mowing his lawn as well as many others and donated his time mowing, snow blowing or however he was needed.

Tom loved the open road. He spent his career clocking an unimaginable amount of miles as a truck driver and a proud member of the Teamsters Local 100.

With his wife, Karen, by his side, Tom loved to travel.  The couple visited many national parks and tourist attractions throughout the country.

He was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus-Glen Mary Council 5674.  Tom proudly served as Grand Knight on two separate occasions. He enjoyed the service work and many friendships made through the council.

Tom seemed to be a man of few words, but always had a story to tell or fact to share and easily made many good friends. He was a simple man, but made a huge impact on many hearts.  He will be forever loved by all that knew him.

Tom was preceded in death by: parents, Sidney and Viola Ross; and wife, Karen Ann (nee Westendorf).

Tom is survived by: children, Steve (Teri) Ross and Doug (Emily) Ross; grandchildren, Alex Ross, Ian Ross, and Jackson Ross.

Visitation will be Thursday, June 23, 2022 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9080 Cincinnati Dayton Road, West Chester, Ohio 45069 .  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM at the Church.  Interment will immediately follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the Alzheimer's Association .
