Vera Mae James

Vera Mae James (nee Bailey) , of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully December 19, 2022 at the age of 94.  She was born January 2, 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Enos Glen and Daisy Mae (nee Tate) Bailey.

Vera spent her career with P&G at the St. Bernard Plant, as an Administrative Assistant.  She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her many friends at Chesterwood Village.  She was an avid reader and known for her love of clothes and serious sweet tooth!  Her famous creamy peanut butter fudge, is loved by all her family and friends.

Vera was preceded in death by: her husband, Lewis James; grandson, James Lefevers; parents, Glen and Mae and siblings, Irene Mason, Roger Bailey, Marcelene Daniels, Henry Bailey, and Richard Bailey.

Vera is survived by: daughters, Diana (Larry) Spreckelmeier and Tena (Chuck) Weider; grandchildren, Tania (Tom) Wein, Trisha (Chris) Mosser, and Jessie (Toby) Brett; great-grandchildren, Rachel (Jeff) Madden, Dacota Waits, Hanna Wein, Noah Wein, Jackson Mosser, Sophia Mosser, Aiden Delatte, Kolin Brett, Eva Brett, Stella Brett; and great-great-grandchildren, Jacob Madden and Jade Madden; and many loving family members and friends.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Vera's life will be Monday, January 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chesterwood Village Chapel.

Memorial donations may be directed to American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
