Vina Geraldine Owens Beatty entered into eternal rest, January 11, 2025 peacefully after a long battle of deteriorating health. She was 89 years old at her passing.
Vina or “Gerri” as she was known by friends, was born on April 12,1935 to the late Charlie and Imogene Owens in Wolf Creek, Kentucky. She married Roscoe Clark Beatty on February 10, 1962, and had been together 62 years with deep devotion until the time of her passing.
Vina was a beloved and devoted mother to one son, Ronald Beatty, and grandmother to Lauren Beatty and Robert Rose Beatty. She loved her family deeply and freely gave them the gift of quality time; there was nothing she wouldn’t do in support of her family. She was extremely proud of her family’s accomplishments and loved attending her grandchildren’s many sporting events and other activities.
Vina was adventurous and enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family and friends. One of her passions in her later years was raising Monarch Butterflies in her Ft Myers home and releasing them many times sharing the releases with friends and neighbors.
She is survived by her husband Roscoe (Clark) Beatty; son Ronald Beatty; grandchildren Lauren Beatty and Robert Rose (Levi) Beatty. She was preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Imogene Owens and by her siblings Phyllis Easter of Cincinnati, OH, Claudette Terry of Milford, OH, Charles Owens Williamsburg of KY, Glenn Owens of Milford, OH and Raymond Owens of North Carolina .
FUNERAL CEREMONY
In lieu of a formal funeral arrangement, the family will be having a Celebration of Life that will be announced at a date in the future.
