William Douglas Henderson

August 4, 1943 — April 21, 2022

William Douglas “Bill” Henderson, 78 of Morrow, passed away on April 21, 2022. Born to George and Ann (nee Hoprich) Henderson on August 4, 1943, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Bill worked for over 25 years as a marketing manager for AT&T before retiring and working for University Hospital in Cleveland as Director of Telemedicine for the next 10 years.  He was a hard worker, dedicated and really enjoyed what he did.

Bill was a proud veteran in the United States Navy serving for 7 years. He stayed active and volunteered with the submarine veterans, USS COD WWII Memorial submarine in Cleveland and was the commander of the submarine veterans in Cleveland.

He could best be described as a strong family man that believed in his faith and did it with kindness, humor and strength. He loved his Irish heritage and traveled to Ireland twice with his wife.  He and his wife loved to travel and another one of their highlighted trips was to Israel.

Bill had a passion for volunteering, with Special Olympics, and especially at his former churches, St. Margaret Mary and Holy Angels in Cleveland. The friendships he made there have lasted a lifetime.

Preceded in death by his parents, George and Ann Henderson, brother George, sister Katherine Giallanza, his son, W. Douglas “Doug” Henderson and granddaughter, Charlie.

Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elaine (nee Kocsis) Henderson, three children, David (Lisa) Henderson, Kevin (Tracy) Henderson and Shannon (Aaron) Lakanen, six grandchildren, Jake, Ben, Emily, Tyler, Will and Gemma, and many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, April 29 th at 10:30am at St Francis de Sales Church, 20 Desales Ave, Lebanon, OH 45036 .

There will be a reception at 12:00pm at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, OH 45040 .

A private interment will take place on Monday at Dayton National Cemetery with military honors.
