William Loebig

William E. “Bill” Loebig, of West Chester, OH passed away on July 30, 2021 at the age of 93. He was born in New Albany, IN to Edwin and Louise (nee Papy) Loebig.

Bill was the beloved husband of the late Margaret (nee Fein) Loebig, devoted father of Brent (Barb) and Paul (Brigid) Loebig, loving grandpa of Kim (Chris) Chartier, Pam (George) Stern, Jason (Emily) Loebig, Emily (Kevin) Depasse, Eric (Ellie) Loebig and Bryan Loebig, great-grandpa of Rowe, Cedar and Kai Chartier and Sawyer Stern, dear brother of his twin, Wilbur (Pat) Loebig and the late Elizabeth Schlensker, and uncle to many.

Bill was a wonderful family man, always caring for his children and grandchildren. He relished the opportunity to take part in or hear about their every activity, project or accomplishment.

Bill enjoyed a long and successful career in sales, even earning for himself the nickname “Dollar Bill” for his frequent ability to get one more important order in the door before quarter-end. After retiring, he was a regular swimmer at the Countryside YMCA. He also worked at Countryside for many years and made many friends and acquaintances at the Y. Bill never knew a stranger. In his spare time, he was a successful gardener, growing delicious vegetables and beautiful flowers and roses. He was always in pursuit of that perfect tomato, green bean or flower. And he never, ever met a dessert he didn't like!

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9080 Cincinnati-Dayton Road, West Chester, OH 45069 at 11 AM on Saturday, September 18, 2021. Bill enjoyed a wonderful life and his family hopes this will be a joyous celebration of that life. Visitation will begin at 10 followed by the service at 11. Interment will follow at a later date at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Countryside YMCA Financial Assistance Endowment Campaign (a program that Bill supported for many years), and sent to Countryside YMCA, 1699 Deerfield Road, Lebanon, OH 45036.
