William H. "Bill" Maier, of Liberty Township, passed away peacefully February 22, 2021 at the age of 76. He was born December 2, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Bill met the love of his life, Marilyn Sue Verble when she was in the eighth grade and Bill was a freshman in high school. The two were married on October 23, 1965 in St. Louis. He later received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Bradley University in 1968. In the summer of 1968, Bill enlisted and was ordered to basic training with the United States Army where he served with the Army Reserve until 1974.

Born with a servant's heart, Bill spent his life giving back to society in a multitude of ways. He spent countless hours volunteering with several organizations such as the annual ATP Tour professional tennis tournament. Bill coached many different sports teams for all three of his sons. He had a passion for baseball which he passed on to his children where Bill spent many years with Knothole Baseball in District 5 . If he had received a kindness or favor, Bill was sure to pay it forward with another act of goodwill and generosity.

With a fondness for the classics, Bill purchased a navy blue 1937 Packard 115c.
