William (Bill) Arthur McManus Jr., age 84, passed from his battle with cancer and dementia on Sunday, February 22, 2025, at 8:08 PM at Story Point Senior Living Facility in West Chester Township, Ohio. He was born January 21, 1941, in Lima, Ohio, to the late William Arthur McManus Sr. and Elenor (Bickham) McManus. He married his late wife, Patricia Ann (Tackett) McManus, on July 17, 1962, until her death at age 71 on April 5, 2016. Bill remarried Carol (Bryant) McManus on March 19, 2019, in Sparta, Tennessee, who survives Him

A 1959 graduate of Harding High School, Bill began his career as a stockboy for G.C. Murphy’s company in 1957, where he eventually entered and graduated from their executive management training program in 1964. Bill was a highly successful store manager for G.C. Murphy’s until his retirement in 1991. Bill found his “second career” in retail in 1996 when he managed a store for Springrove Variety until his permanent retirement in 2006. Bill and his wife Pat delighted in their relationship with their Savior, Jesus Christ, and lived out that love in the churches where they were members each time Murphy’s moved them to a new location. Bill regularly served his Lord and church as a deacon, on various committees, and in children’s ministries. Bill was currently under the spiritual care of his oldest son and the members of Tri-County Baptist Church of West Chester, Ohio

Surviving along with his wife are three sons, Rev. Brian K. (Lynn) McManus, Christopher K. (Rechel) McManus, and Douglas A. (Holly) McManus, and two brothers, James and John McManus. There are five grandchildren, Rev. Michael (Stephanie) McManus, Matthew (Kelsey) McManus, Aaron (Stephanie) McManus, William G. (Rachel) McManus, Rev. Henry (Brittany) McManus, and three great-grandsons, Timothy, Peter, and Henry, and one beautiful great-granddaughter, Aurelia.

A visitation and celebration of life will be held at Tri-County Baptist Church  TIMES AND DATE PENDING, officiated by Rev. Brian K. McManus. Bill’s interment will take place at a later date in Marion, Ohio, and will be held for his immediate and extended family.
