William J Murphy

William John Murphy, 87 of West Chester, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2024. Born to William J. and Anna L. (nee Abney) Murphy on December 31, 1937, in Beech Grove, Indiana.

Bill was an artist. He had a creative mind and body. His ability to write poetry and music flowed naturally through him. He could play the guitar and read music. Bill was creative with building things, woodworking, and even drawing.

Bill loved his family with his entire being. A devoted, honest, and loyal man who found the true love of his life in his wife, Kay. They were the pure image of love. 

Preceded in death by his parents William and Anna Murphy. 

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Renita Kay Murphy, his children, Catherine Ibrahim, Stephen (Amanda) Murphy and Sarah Cooper, six grandchildren, Nadia, Sharif, Connor, Megan, Roxy, and Isla and two siblings, Mary Anne (Jerry) Sanders and Michael (Nancy) Murphy.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. 

Memorial donations may be made in Bill’s name to The American Cancer Society or Boy's Town.
