William D. Wendt, World War II Navy Veteran (Chief Hospital Corpsman, Philippines; then joined USMC 2nd Medical Battalion/2nd Marine Division), resident of West Chester, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly June 21, 2021 at the age of 97. He was born September 15, 1923 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Ernest "Bill" and Nell (nee Lane) Wendt.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest "Bill" and Nell Wendt; his brothers, Bob Wendt and Charles Wendt; his grandson, William "Bill" David Wendt III and sons-in-law, Michael Young and Arthur Knight.
William is survived by his wife, Ruth (nee Fox) Scott-Wendt; children, Linda Young, William "Bill" David Wendt II (Lori), Gary Wendt (Orvilla), Terry Wendt (Sandy), Carol Wendt and Tina Knight; step-sons, William "Bill" Scott and Bob Vernon Witt; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Mueller Funeral Home, 6791 Tylersville Road, Mason, Ohio 45040 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM with a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 PM honoring William and his service during World War II and the Korean War.
