Wilma Ann Teegarden

June 24, 1939 — November 6, 2020

Wilma Ann Teegarden (nee Simpson), was escorted by angels to her heavenly home Friday, November 6, 2020 at the age of 81. She was born Saturday, June 24, 1939 in Falmouth, Kentucky to Clyde and Christine (nee Blackburn) Simpson.

Faith and Family. If you knew Wilma, you knew these were the most treasured things in her life. Her voyage began on Thursday, December 31, 1964 when she married her sweetheart, Jack Teegarden. From that day forward, the two were inseparable. They provided a home filled with love and laughter for their three children, a home that was warm and inviting to all that entered, a home that friends were considered family.

Music was a constant in the Teegarden home. Gifted with a beautiful voice, she delighted in sharing with others the joys of music. A passion and talent she shared with her husband, Jack, and passed along to many family members. Wilma took great pleasure in singing and continued to hum and tap her finger to music even until her last days.

Have you ever met a person with a kinder or more gentle heart than Wilma? She truly exuded the definition of selflessness as Wilma was always more concerned with the needs and wishes of others than with her own. Wilma will forever be treasured by all that knew and loved her.

Wilma was preceded in death by: parents, Clyde and Christine Simpson; husband, Jack Teegarden; granddaughter, Lacy Shay Teegarden; and siblings, Helen Moore, Harold Simpson, Melvin "Ray" Simpson, and Richard "Rick" Simpson.

Wilma is survived by: children, Connie (Bill Schorr) Tackett, Jack (Tammy) Teegarden and Julie (Chris Hicks) Teegarden; grandchildren, Haley McNeely, Cory (Laura) Tackett, Jack C. (Emma) Teegarden, James Teegarden, Zoe Hicks, Grace Hicks, John Hicks, and Henrietta Hicks; great-grandchildren, Avah McNeely, Jacklyn Rodgers, Aidan Teegarden, Olivia Mitchell, William Hoppe, Oliver Teegarden, Noah Tackett, and Henry Tackett; her loyal companion, Trudy; and many loving family members, church family and friends.
