Zygmunt Wytrwal

Zygmunt Wytrwal, of West Chester, Ohio, passed away peacefully March 19, 2024 at the age of 80.  He was born May 10, 1943.  He will be sadly missed and will always hold a place in our hearts.

Zygmunt married the love of his life, Janina (Kloczkowska) Wytrwal, on Saturday, October 28, 1962.  The couple was blessed with a son, Mariusz, and a daughter, Bernadette.

Determination is a perfect word for Zygmunt.  After being denied 3 times by the Embassy, he was finally able to move his family from Poland in 1976.  Proof that you never give up, don't be shy, and ALWAYS ask for what you want in life.  Zygmunt was proud to be an American and had a deep love for this country.

You could often find Zygmunt and Janina in the garden singing hymns.  He loved being outdoors, enjoyed fishing and was a great soccer player in his day.  He had many talents, even creating a car out of wood for the kids one season, but perhaps his cooking was the most memorable.  Zygmunt's homemade polish sausage, golumpki, and wines were absolutely the best.

Zygmunt was preceded in death by: parents, Stanislaw and Helena (Lizak) Wytrwal; wife, Janina Wytrwal; and 4 siblings.

Zygmunt is survived by: children, Mariusz (Barbara) Wytrwal and Bernadette Bowen; grandchildren, Priscilla Wytrwal, Patricia (Abel Collins) Wytrwal Collins, Pauline Wytrwal, Blair Bowen, and Angelina Bowen; great-grandchildren, Emmett and Evelyn Wytrwal Collins; sisters, Anna Gadomska and Maria Kurdziel; and other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, March 22, 2024 10:00 am to 11:00 am at St. Susanna Catholic Church, 616 Reading Road, Mason, Ohio 45040.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am at the Church.

Zygmunt will be laid to rest next to his wife in Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Palmer, Massachusetts.  Please join the family Monday, March 25, 2024 at 9:00 am for Graveside Prayers.
