Lillie (nee Siler) Hoffert, 84 of Cincinnati, passed away on August 29, 2022. Born to Moade and Gracie Jane (nee Rose) Siler on March 6, 1938, in Whitley County, Kentucky.
Lillie based her life around her faith and her family. She was the daughter of a Baptist preacher; her father baptized her himself in the creek near their home in Kentucky as a young teen. She loved to share memories of her childhood and stories about her sisters and brother through the years.
She never knew a stranger. She was easy to talk to and easy to love. Her kindness, great sense of humor, strong will and independent streak made her unforgettable. She loved her family dearly and was so proud of the legacy that was a result of the love she and Ted shared. That legacy lives on in their children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed going to Florida with her family. Walking along the beach, toes in the water and searching for seashells made her happy. She took pride in growing beautiful flowers and loved caring for and nurturing them. She loved shopping for clothes, shoes, purses, and jewelry and couldn’t pass up a bargain!
Her friends were so special to her, and she had a core group of friends she had made over 60 years ago and she was happy they had stayed close all those years even though some of them had passed on in recent years. She loved reminiscing about their annual birthday dinners and special outings.
Lillie was a beautiful light and had a zest for life. All her family and friends will miss her dearly, but they take comfort in knowing she is in Heaven with her savior and all of her loved ones that have passed on before. Her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of all who loved her.
Preceded in death by her parents, Moade and Gracie Siler, her husband, Ted Hoffert, and siblings, Mossie Siler, Jim Siler, Myrtle Hopkins, Pearl Reed, Opal Baker, and Joyce White.
Lillie is survived by her three children: Ted (Nora) Hoffert, Cindy (Greg) Kephart and Jennifer (Benjamin) Sasse; seven grandchildren: Joshua (Megan), Ryan (Sarah), Austin (Chesten), Gracelyn, Noah, Lyla and Hope; five great grandchildren: Xavier, Alexandra, Elizabeth, Penelope and Samuel; sister, Cora (Robert) Overberg; and many nieces and nephews.
