Susan Claire Schnell, 74, of Mason, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2022. She was born to Mark George and Helen Claire (nee Lehmkuhl) Schnell on February 14, 1948 in Hamilton, Ohio. Sue is survived by her brothers, James M. Schnell (Deborah) and Steven G. Schnell (Lisa), and her nieces, Sarah Grode (Neal), Emily Grant (Alex), Alexis Dever (Ryan), Stephanie Scheffel (Bryan), and Taylor Kellard, as well as 10 great nieces and nephews. She attended Notre Dame High school in Hamilton, Ohio, and went on to receive her Bachelors in Education at Miami University in Oxford and her Masters in Education from Xavier University in Cincinnati. Throughout her career in education she served as an elementary school teacher, Assistant Principal at several Hamilton City Schools, and was the Principal of Harrison Elementary School for many years. She was revered by many teachers, and loved by many students. After retiring from the Hamilton City School District, she continued her career in education by serving as Principal of Queen of Peace Elementary School. In addition to her tenure as an educator, she also served on the Board of Directors of the Hamilton's Boys and Girls Club. Sue dedicated her life to helping and mentoring others, and she impacted the lives of countless students throughout her career through her passion, dedication, and unending generosity. In recent years, one of Sue's greatest joys was the time that she got to spend with her great nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held Thursday, September 8th from 10:00-11:00am at St. John the Evangelist, 9080 Cincinnati-Dayton Rd. West Chester, Ohio 45069, with a funeral service immediately following at 11:00am, at the same location.
